The troop leadership will hold a informational meeting for parents during the troop meeting on Thursday May 3
rd at the Ethel Hoppock Middle School. At least one parent from each troop family must plan to attend. Topics for the meeting include:
- Volunteering for committee and non-committee roles. Roles on the committee typically include owning an event or function conducted by the troop and availability for advancement board of reviews held each month on a regular basis and on demand for special situations. Non-committee roles can manage events or activities needed by the troop throughout the year.
- Volunteering as a Merit Badge Counselor for adults with skills that align to Merit Badge requirements.
- Activities for summer camp and opportunities for parents to spend one or more days lending assistance at camp.
- Supplies and Gear needed for troop activities and our regular trip to Campmor to purchase at discounted rates and without sales tax.
- Opportunities for parents with ideas for trips and activities to present to scout youth leadership during the monthly PLC.
- Management (scheduling and data collection) of drivers for troop events.
- Handling the distribution, presentation and collection of Summer Camp Contracts.
- Summer Camp Pictures and Meal Tickets for camp this year.
- T-Shirts sizing and ordering for Summer Camp.
